Rising touring car star Mitchell Cheah clearly has eyes for three Top 10 finishes in this Sunday’s FIA WTCR Race of Malaysia at former Formula 1 venue, the Sepang International Circuit.
The 2019 ADAC TCR Germany rookie contender had a good start with two wildcard tests earlier this week, in order to get extra track time in a Hyundai i30 N TCR along with fellow wildcard driver, MotoGP racer Hafizh Syahrin.
The 21-year old said the following during a pre-race event in Malaysia’s capital city Kuala Lumpur, “We are looking forward for a strong position to prepare ourselves for the qualifying session on Friday.”
While Cheah has vast experience of racing at Sepang throughout his racing career, his goal is to finish Top 10 in all three races, which will held on Sunday under a compressed timetable
“I’m eyeing for Top 10 finish in all three races and not higher than that due to the wildcard entry,” said the Malaysian.
“We have 20kg ballast in the car, so that will give an extra tough time for us to be able to fight for Top 3 or Top 5 finish. Anything more than Top 10 finish would be a bonus.”
